THE FIRST EVER BOX SET FROM THE BAY CITY ROLLERS: THEY HAD THE TUNES, THE TALENT AND A LOT OF TARTAN

Racking up hits and selling out concerts worldwide in the 1970s, the Bay City Rollers were nothing short of teen sensations as ‘Rollermania’ took the globe by storm. Dressed in their distinctive ankle-length tartan trousers and scarves, Les, Eric, Woody, Alan and Derek were for a time dubbed `the biggest group since The Beatles.’

Here for the first time across four joyous CDs is the definitive Bay City Rollers Box Set collection including all of the band’s singles, as well as select album tracks, B-sides, oddities and a fantastic full-colour 36-page booklet jam-packed with photos and memorabilia. Also included is an in-depth essay chronicling the band’s storied history, penned by respected journalist Mick Wall. Newsquest Northwest has joined forces with ppr publicity to promote this competition. Our lucky readers have the chance to win one of five copies of Rollermania: Bay City Rollers The Anthology in this easy to enter giveaway.

Throughout the 70s, the Bay City Rollers sold an estimated 150 million albums on the strength of worldwide hits including “Bye Bye Baby,” “Shang-A-Lang,” “Saturday Night,” “I Only Wanna Be With You” and “Give A Little Love” – All of which are included in this spectacular Rollers’ set. Also featured are top-ten hits “Keep On Dancing,” “Remember (Sha-La-La)”, “Summerlove Sensation”, “All Of Me Loves All of You,” “Money Honey” and “Love Me Like I Love You.”

Hailing from Edinburgh, the Rollers were originally called The Saxons before changing their name to sound more American. In fact, the ‘Bay City’ portion of the new name was settled upon after a dart thrown at a map of the USA landed near Bay City, Michigan.
