A TEENAGER has been chosen to lead Darwen Academy’s new campaign to inspire the town’s communities.

Evan Lloyd, 13, was selected to liaise between students, parents and teachers as part of the Stand Out in Darwen project, which aims to improve aspirations of youngsters.

The Year 8 pupil said: “I am lucky to be student campaign leader and I am very impressed at the fact I have been chosen.

“This entire campaign is to help other people to achieve their dreams and get the jobs they want so they can have a decent life and be happy.”

Stand Out In Darwen will pool resources from schools, community groups, businesses, parents and the wider community.

Brendan Loughran, DACA principal, said: “Evan is the ideal student to help boost confidence and inspire other youngsters; he is focused and already has aspirations of his own.”
