A BURGLAR who confronted his victims as he tried to raid their home in the night is behind bars for 20 months.
Burnley Crown Court heard how Damien Taylor, 26, had stolen from the householders’ shed and then smashed the window of a car.
Taylor, father of a two-year-old girl, had a chronic heroin addiction and had taken drugs and drink before the attack on the property.
He said his brother had damaged his methadone prescription leaving him without legitimate drugs over a bank holiday weekend.
The hearing was told how the defendant claimed the birth of his child had changed him, but he had been to prison twice since.
Taylor, of Cobden Street, Burnley, admitted attempted burglary, theft and vehicle interference.
