AS PART of the cost-saving measures, a review has been ordered into all of Blackburn with Darwen’s libraries.
Council bosses have remained tight-lipped on what might come from the move.
Council leader Mike Lee said it was a legal requirement to have a review before making any decisions.
Labour leader Kate Hollern claimed smaller branch libraries were under threat, adding: “If you look at where they are, it’s people who struggle to get into town.”
As well as Blackburn central library, the council runs services in Darwen, Livesey, Roman Road and Mill Hill as well as a mobile library.
Darwen Library Theatre is unaffected by the current review of facilities.
