A CAR hit the central reservation on the M65 and overturned during rush hour last night.
The male driver managed escaped from the wreckage after he lost control travelling westbound close to the slip road on to the M61 towards Chorley.
Police were called and drivers faced tailbacks from 5.20pm until 7.30pm.
No other vehicles were involved.
