FIRE crews were called to Burnley General Hospital this morning after heavy rainfall caused a flood in the emergency x-ray department.
The emergency services were called at 3am after water began pouring into a single-storey building.
Watch manager, Mark Hammond said: “The gutters were unable to cope with the sheer volume of water and it began leaking into the building.
“A couple of tiles off the ceiling had come down and we were concerned about the electrics but then the rain eased off and we were able to clear the area.
"No-one was injured or had to be evacuated.”
