A MEETING has been called to discuss whether lessons can be learned after a five-organisation operation was needed to safely remove industrial fireworks from an allotment in Barrowford.
Lancashire County Council’s Trading Standards officers arranged for the fireworks to be removed from the Barrowford shed, following an operation that involved Barrowford Parish Council, Pendle Council, Lancashire Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue.
John Pope, chairman of Barrowford Parish Council, said an ‘extraordinary meeting’ was now being planned in light of events on Thursday.
He said: “I would like to thank all the organisations that helped deal with this incident for their prompt and professional actions in rectifying the situation.”
