THE Emmaus Burnley Project has been given a donation of £100,000 to cover the costs of the conversion work at Emmaus House in Burnley.
Trusthouse Charitable Foundation awarded them the grant which will help provide 11 units of accommodation for companions including a kitchen and a dining room.
Peter Pike, chairman of Emmaus, said “This is a very welcome donation which will enable us to complete the first phase of work which is due to start very soon.
“Tenders are being submitted now.
“We do still need over another £1million to complete the project.”
The former sheltered complex in Booth Court, off Colne Road, Daneshouse, is being turned into the Emmaus headquarters for the borough.
