FAMILIES turned out in their droves to enjoy the 62nd annual Colne Gala on Saturday.
Hundreds of people lined the streets to watch the traditional procession from Shaw Street, through the town centre, to Norfolk Street.
They then headed to Holt House playing fields, where the activities culminated in a fairground and other attractions, including stalls, majorettes and martial arts displays.
Money raised will be donated to CLIC Sargent, which cares for children with cancer.
Trophies have been handed out to groups and individuals who supported Colne Gala’s annual parade.
An exhibition double decker won the Lancashire Telegraph prize for trade floats; Colne Churches Together triumphed in the Farmhouse Biscuits religious category; and the Duffy family award for pubs and clubs went to The Wallace Hartley.
The gala queen’s trophy was won by Keighley’s Lindsey Lyness, who was also named best in parade, and the Jack Kibble Trophy was awarded to Silentnight Beds’ float.
Huddersfield-based Valley Royals won the majorettes prize, the best leader was from Hyndburn Comets and Brighouse Sapphires earned the music gong.
Colne’s Got Talent was won by Annie Bond and the tug o’ war was again won by Nelson and Colne Rugby Club.
