MORE than 1,000 students aged between two and 18 have taken part in a singing event at Blackburn’s King George’s Hall.
More than 40 schools participated in the Mini Sing and Big Sing yesterday and Wednesday, organised by Blackburn with Darwen Music and Arts Service.
A choir of 500 primary school pupils performed together for the Mini Sing and 600 high school pupils took part in a singing workshop, with professionals such as Jeff Borradaile, conductor of The Blackburn People’s Choir, and world-class beatboxer Jason Singh. Vocal tutor Kate Parkinson said: “This is the fourth year we’ve done this and we’ve had an amazing response from the pupils.
“We’ve worked hard to make singing accessible for all pupils by including World Cup songs and a beatboxer.”
