A LORRY got into a tight squeeze in Pendle yesterday.
Residents called the police around midday after the lorry got trapped under the railway bridge in Railway Street, Nelson.
Sergeant Gareth Hill, from the Road Policing Unit, said: “A heavy goods vehicle got stuck under the bridge and in doing so damaged a lamp-post.
“Officers from the policing unit helped the lorry reverse out of the tunnel and trains were not affected.
“Staff from Network Rail were called to fix the lamp-post so the road was closed for a little while.”
