CHARLIE Bishop, of St Paul's CofE Primary School, Constablelee, has been installed as the fourth Mini Mayor of Rossendale.
Charlie, who is nine, impressed councillors in an informal interview before he was appointed.
The role will include accompanying Rossendale's Mayor Coun Trevor Unsworth on specially selected events this year.
A competition to find the new Miini Mayor was launched in all primary schools throughout the borough.
The council picked Charlie, a year five pupil, at its annual meeting.
