BLUEPRINTS to safeguard the future operation of Ski Rossendale are now being considered by town hall bosses.
Leisure chiefs in the Valley want to ensure the dry ski slope continues as a going concern, and the deadline has now passed for submissions to manage the facility from 2010 onwards.
Coun Jason Gledhill, cabinet member for leisure, said interviews would take place concerning the tenders in late June and early July. A final decision is expected later in the year.
Coun Gledhill said: “The project is progressing and expressions of interest from a variety of companies have been received.
"There will be further consultation with users and residents to ensure we are continuing in line with the sensitivities of the locality.”
Consultants advised councillors to sell off the ski centre, run by Rossendale Leisure Trust.
An estimated £10million worth of external investment was said to be needed to secure the slope’s long-term future.
