A 43-YEAR-OLD man has been given a caution after police found 27 mature cannabis plants growing in a caravan.
Jeffrey Wearden, of Shaw House Farm, Clitheroe Rd, Whalley, was given the police caution for cultivating cannabis after the plants were found in a caravan near to an outbuilding by Whalley beat manager Justin Brown on June 3.
Police said a drugs warrant was executed the following day at 6pm and Wearden was interviewed and admitted his involvement.
Sergeant Conrad Tapp, of Clitheroe police, said: “This just demonstrates the extremely good proactive work carried out by officers in the Ribble Valley when they receive reliable intelligence at short notice.
"I would like to reassure the public that this work will continue and warn anyone that positive measures will be taken against anyone suspected of cultivating and/or selling illegal substances.”
