A 16-year-old boy has told police he was raped at a town centre car garage.
Officers have arrested a 60-year-old security guard in connection with the alleged incident, which they said happened at the Perry’s car sales garage in Blackburn in the early hours of Sunday.
Yesterday, police crime scene investigators were completing a finger-tip forensic search of the property after the youngster reported being attacked in the car sales building in Whalley New Road.
It is understood the man arrested is a self-employed security guard who was on duty and working at the site at the time of the incident.
A spokesman for Perry's said the security guard was not an employee of Perry's, and declined to comment further.
Police said that they were now investigating how the boy ended up inside the property.
The alleged rape was reported to police at 3pm on Sunday after the 16-year-old local boy had spoken to his family.
He told police that the attack happened at around 2am earlier that day.
Last night the 60-year-old man was still being questioned by detectives at Greenbank Police Station, Whitebirk.
