Lancashire Police have had to bin more than £22,000 worth of uniforms because they are out of date.
The bulk of items are 134 black jackets, costing £135 each, which comes to £18,200.
They are no longer needed because officers now wear high-visibilty versions.
Other out-of-date stock binned includes radios, handcuff and baton pouches, gloves and anoraks.
