HERE'S Rossendale supermodel Agyness Deyn taking her first steps into acting.
The former Bacup and Rawtenstall Grammar School pupil can be seen wearing a 1930s-style outfit and wavy dark hair in the 12-minute film called Mean To Me.
She is starring alongside Law and Order's Linus Roache in the film, which has been directed by respected film director Peter McGough.
He hand-picked Agyness, who once worked in Village Chippy in Stubbins, for the part.
He said: “I wanted to create a story in which the female protagonist is a beautiful, glamorous woman with an intense, multi-faceted personality.
“Showing her progression from a vulnerable position to one of strength and documenting how far she could go was just thrilling.”
The black and white film is shot in a Manhattan apartment in 1932 and portrays Agyness as a victimised girlfriend consumed by greed and looking for revenge on her lover who breaks up with her.
Jan Shutt, owner of Sunday Best in Bank Street, Rawtenstall, who helped discover Agyness when she was 16, said she knew that she had star quality.
She said: “I am delighted that Agyness is diverging into a new area.
“She has the Midas touch in whatever she does and I am very very pleased to see her in a film.
“I hope she is very successful in this and I know that everyone at Sunday Best wishes her very well.”
