A SUSPECTED jogging flasher was arrested in Burnley after he attempted to carry out an alleged eighth offence.
Police were alerted to a report of a man exposing himself in Kinross Street on the Stoops estate, at around 9pm last night by a woman who was walking her dogs.
Officers rushed to the area and a 26-year-old man was detained in Manchester Road 20 minutes later, on suspicion of indecent exposure.
Last night he was being questioned by Burnley CID in relation to seven previous ‘flashing’ offences across Burnley and Rossendale.
If charged by detectives he will appear before a special sitting of Burnley magistrates tomorrow for a remand hearing.
Detectives have appealed for more information in relation to the incidents, which are said to have began in early February.
Det Insp Simon Cheyte said: “Although we have made an arrest I would still appeal for anyone who thinks they may have been a victim who has not come forward to report it to us to contact police.
"Any information you may have could help us with our inquiry."
The suspected flasher is said to have struck in Towneley Park, Limmy Lane in Loveclough, Piccadilly Road, Crown Point Road, Scott Park Road, Montague Street and Manchester Road.
Alleged victims have varied in age from 15 to women in their 20s and 30s, and early 40s.
He was said to have tried to grab women on some occasions.
Anyone with any information can contact Burnley police on 01282 425001 or Crimestoppers, in confidence on 0800 555 111.
