EAST Lancashire's top hospital boss said there had been a "substantial" reduction in costly agency nurses.
Jo Cubbon, chief executive of East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust, said the cutback "provides further opportunities" for savings at the cash-strapped authority.
The trust has announced a raft of cost-cutting measures to save £11.6 million by April.
