CHIPS can be good for pets and their owners, an animal warden has revealed microchips that is!

Dog warden Dave East is offering owners the chance to get their pet microchipped at a knock-down price this month.

A microchip is recommended as an effective way of permanently linking pets to their owners, increasing the chances of them being reunited if the animal is lost, stolen or strays.

Rossendale's animal warden has been able to reunite cats and dogs with their owners months or even years after they first went missing and have been given up for lost thanks to a microchip.

The following "Micro-chipping days" will be held: Whitworth Library, tomorrow from 10am to 1.30pm. Pet Shop, Bank Street, Rawtenstall, Friday from 10.30 am to 4.30pm. Haslingden Sports Centre car park, Tuesday, from 1pm to 4.30pm Bacup Leisure Hall, Thursday, June 15, from 1pm to 4.30pm Whitworth Library, Friday, June 30, from 5pm to 7pm.

The cost is £5 per dog. For more information ring Dave East on 01706 244552 or email daveeast@rossendalebc.gov.uk
