A SCHEME aimed at giving the red card to night-time violence and disorder in Burnley town centre has launched a new crackdown ahead of the World Cup.
The BAND (Burnley Against Night-time Disorder) posters, which feature a referee holding a red card, warn fans of the penalty they face if they get involved in violence, and will be displayed in town centre pubs and clubs during the fothcoming tournament.
Shaun Grogan, Chairman of BAND said: "Hundreds of people are expected to gather in town centre pubs and bars to watch the World Cup matches We hope there is a great party atmosphere.
"But the message is clear to fans have a great time but behave yourself."
