THERE'S no middle line with Chinese food - it's either very good or very bad.
So it's with trepidation that we try new places.
But a babysitting stint forced us to seek somewhere new after the little darling had nodded off, full of milk.
Brownhill Chippy, with a comprehensive selection of Chinese dishes as well as traditional chippy fare, falls into the superb category.
I chose chicken satay, which was plentiful, tender and perfectly spiced, while hubby went for roast pork in hot Szechuan sauce, again with good-sized pieces and a delightful sauce the menu said it was hot and it certainly met expectations.
Topped off with two portions of egg fried rice (hubby may be caring but he's definitely not sharing when it comes to his grub) and an impulse buy of Singapore vermicelli (plenty of fire in its belly), it was a super feast for £18.
And no, we didn't leave any!
Brownhill Chippy is on Whalley New Road, Blackburn.
