The Fallout Trust have a name that makes you assume they will be bland, angst-ridden indie-rock. But this single is actually knowing, exhilarating indie-rock.
Following a year of relentless gigging with the likes of Tom Vek and Clor, who are both very appropriate touring partners, this is the deserved re-release of an unjustly ignored single from last June.
When We Are Gone kicks off with a glitchy beat, and the many different elements of this six-piece band come in sporadically to build a clashing crescendo of mood and instruments.
Listening to this single is something like receiving a shot of liquid understatement that has been cunningly blended into an adrenalin cocktail and garnished with musical and vocal hooks.
An absolute joy.
