A YOUNG dad kneed his partner in the face and threatened her after returning home from a 13-hour drinking session, a court was told.
Burnley magistrates heard how Lee Nuttall, 20, had arrived home drunk and awoken the victim Laura Nicholls and their baby daughter. He then punched his girlfriend a couple of times.
Nuttall, of Ronaldsway, Nelson, admitted common assault on April 16. He was given a community order with 12 months supervision and 40 hours community service.
The defendant, who must pay £50 costs, was told by the bench he should think himself lucky he did not cause serious injury.
David Hartley, prosecuting, told the court police were called and found Miss Nicholls and her five-month-old daughter both very upset.
Miss Nicholls said her partner had left about 10am to go drinking with his mates. He had returned about 11.30pm, very drunk.
Mr Hartley said the victim would say they argued, he prevented her getting back into bed to feed their daughter and caused her to sit on the floor. Nuttall then threatened to kick Miss Nicholls' head in and kneed her in the face.
She suffered red marks on both cheeks and swelling.
