DEVELOPERS entrusted with spearheading the re-birth of Burnley town centre today said other towns would be jealous when the scheme was finished.
Building Design Partnership (BDP) has announced a seven point action to breathe new life into the town.
As well as turning Burnley into a magnet for shopping, business, leisure, culture and education, BDP also plans to improve transport links, create more car parking space and overhaul the train stations.
Director Francis Glare, said: "The action plan is an excellent opportunity to help deliver a fantastic Burnley town centre that acts as the hub of a better Burnley, that is the envy of other towns and that is the focus of renewed pride for residents and the wider community of the North West."
The plan, drawn up after public consultation earlier this year, is based on: * Supporting retail growth.
* Stimulating business growth.
* New education facilities.
* Promoting Burnley's unique identity.
* Setting up cultural, art and leisure events.
* Town centre living.
* Improving access.
Plans will be on show between 10am and 4pm next Friday and Saturday (June 2) by the Red Lion pub, St James' Street.
They will also be on show at Contact Burnley, Parker Lane or for five weeks at www.burnley.gov.uk.
Residents are urged to comment and findings will form a final blueprint.
