DEMOLITION work to clear parts of Nelson's historic town centre, to make way for a new multi-million pound development, has been completed.
Now builders are set to move on site to start construction work on the £5million Liberata complex.
Over the past few weeks bulldozers have been eating chunks out of the buildings in Market Street, opposite the town hall.
Landmarks razed to the ground by contractors Connolly's include the Sankey-Lord Printers building, the Overlookers' Club better known as the Tacklers' as well as shops in Russell Street.
Now, following the demolition, the council is set to hand over the land to developers Barnfield Construction.
The new building will house 500 employees and be the headquarters for the local government contractor Liberata, as well as featuring shops and a cafe.
A Pendle Council spokeswoman said: "We are waiting for an exact date for the council to hand over the land to Barnfield Construction, but building work will start imminently."
