The Reserved have been together for six years, having formed when all four members were on the Access to Music course at Blackburn College.

They quickly developed a large local following then headed down to London for a year to learn more about the music business on an artists development scheme.

When the course ended two years ago they returned to their native Darwen and virtually disappeared from the scene.

"We realised we had never really had a decent CD behind us," said drummer Simon Fort.

"So we went into the studio. It has taken us the last 18 months, mainly because we are all working, but also because we wanted to really concentrate on getting the songs right and letting them evolve.

"The CD is really the story of the last 18 months of the band. It reflects the things that we have been through."

As well as the CD, the band have two promotional videos being edited and a DVD due.

Now the studio work is at an end and the band hope to get their seven-track CD The Reserved Re-Served ready for fans in the next few weeks.

"We are now ready to get back out playing live," said Simon.

"Hopefully people will see that we have evolved and as a working band have got more professional and developed musically."

"I think it is good to show that as a band you can get through things together and if you work hard and help each other you can improve," said Simon.

"We are still very much a rock and roll band and we are still four lads from Darwen but we have certainly come through a lot together and that is reflected in our music."
