A MAN caused over £5,000 worth of damage after climbing on to a roof and becoming involved in a stand-off with police.
Police were called to deal with Thomas Smith's bizarre behaviour on top of a strangers home at Dale View Blackburn.
Preston Crown Court was told he had taken drink and drugs allegedly spiked with substances that made him see devils.
Smith, 24, who has an address at an Accrington caravan park, was jailed for 18 months after he pleaded guilty to affray, criminal damage and escaping lawful custody.
Francis McEntee, prosecuting, said Smith was throwing slates and tiles off the roof.
The householder was so stressed by what happened that he had several weeks off work.
