A CARE home in Colne has re-opened following a £1.5million makeover.
Lancashire County Council chairman Bob Wilkinson cut the ribbon to celebrate the unveiling of Favordale Care Home, in Byron Road.
He said: "This is an excellent development and a realisation of the vision we always wanted to achieve with the care homes project.
"These are marvellous facilities which bring our care homes right up to date, and provide the best possible care."
The home has been refitted and now has 44 beds following the building of an extension.
As well as residential facilities, there is also a 25-place day care unit called Byron View. Improvements have also been made to the garden area.
The renovation, part of the county council's project to improve all its care homes, has been underway since February.
