A BLACKBURN pub boss has scooped a major industry award.
Dave Daniel, who works for the UK's largest pub chain, Punch Taverns, has won the 2006 Association of Licensed Multiple Retailer Operations Manager Awards for his work in Lancashire.
Dave, of Blackburn, is business relationship manager (BRM) for Punch, and in his role works with 50 licensees at pubs in the country, including Blackburn. He was one of ten shortlisted.
His duties include helping budding entrepreneurs to find their own pub, and recruiting new licensees.
He said: "Winning this award is a fantastic honour as there are many talented regional managers out there helping leased and tenanted pubs develop into increasingly successful businesses."
Dave previously worked in hotel management and was regional manager for McDonald's in Scotland.
Mark Chapman, Punch's regional operations director, said: "Dave has met incredibly high standards in his role as a BRM and thoroughly deserves this award.
"He has provided quality advice and support, building up excellent working relationships with licensees."
