A LANDLADY has told how bar staff and drinkers were left "shocked and scared" when a man allegedly walked into the pub brandishing a gun.

Landlady Linda Fox said a man first came into her bar at the Jubilee pub in Blakey Moor, Blackburn, at 3pm on Sunday and returned later at around 6pm.

Each time, she said, drinkers were threatened with what appeared to be a small handgun.

Mrs Fox had no idea why her pub had been targeted.

She added: "He first came into the bar and was pointing the gun at drinkers.

"He was shouting that he was going to kill someone but we managed to calm him down and he left.

"There were only a few people in at the time but it was really scary. I had no idea what he was going to do."

She said that staff at the bar, near King George's Hall, alerted police.

Mrs Fox added: "It was really frightening. When he came back the pub was a lot busier and he pulled out the gun and started threatening everyone again.

"You never know how serious someone like that is being but we weren't taking any chances an we called the police."

A police spokesman said the incident had been captured by the town's CCTV system as well as the pub's security network.

Police were now busy analysing the footage in an attempt to positively identify the culprit.
