A HEROIN addict who was beating his 18-year-habit told a court he wanted to do it for his family especially his mum.
Tony Hayton, of Green End Road, Earby, 37, had been given a drug testing and treatment order exactly a year ago after admitting burgling a neighbour's home.
Yesterday he appeared at Burnley Crown Court for a final review of the order and said it had helped him.
Hayton got a pat on the back from a judge and he promised her he would carry on being tested, even though the 12-month order had now finished.
Judge Angela Nield told Hayton she was very pleased he had shown such a positive attitude towards the order.
She added "Its very important to this court you remain drug-free because of the consequences to the criminal justice system if you don't, not just for you. "
