A LANCASHIRE county councillor is challenging people to tell him their views during consultation on a major review of mental health services in the county.
A joint board of Lancashire PCTs is considering proposals to transform mental health services by replacing 15 aging hospital units with three new facilities.
County Councillor Tim Ormrod, chairman of Lancashire County Council's health and equalities overview and scrutiny committee, has been appointed chairman of the Joint Lancashire, Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool Mental Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee.
Coun Ormrod said: "The committee is representing the views of around 1.2million residents in Lancashire on how they would like mental health services to be run and I need people to write to me with their opinions after they've read the consultation booklet."
The booklet is now available for comment and can be obtained by ringing (01282) 607047.
County Councillor Tim Ormrod can be contacted by writing to him at Lancashire County Council Health Scrutiny office, Christchurch Precinct, County Hall, PR1 8XJ or by emailing tim.ormrod@cc.lancscc.gov.uk
