A Haslingden firefighter is swapping lifesaving for oven cleaning.
Kevin O'Connor, a fireman for 27 years, is planning for retirement by taking a franchise with an oven valet service.
He said: "I've got three-and-a-half years till I retire and I was looking for something to do when it happens.
"I saw this and decided to give it a go. But I'm only doing it part time at the moment so when the time comes to retire I have something to step into."
Kevin, 46, has taken over the Blackburn franchise for Ovenu, valeting ovens for customers in the town and surrounding area.
He added: "Being a fireman is a rewarding job and I've been doing it for the last 27 years but I'm looking forward to the oven cleaning business."
