AN inquest has been opened into the death of a 96-year-old woman from Clayton-le-Dale.
The coroner heard that Eveline Collens, of St Peter's Close, was admitted to Queen's Park Hospital, Blackburn, after falling out of her wheelchair at Nazareth House day care centre in Blackburn.
The inquest was told that no injuries were found and she was sent home.
However, after becoming unwell at home she was re-admitted to hospital on March 24, where she was found to have a fractured tibia.
After her condition deteriorated she died in hospital on May 1.
A post motrtem examination has been carried out and a full inquest into her death will be held on July 25.
