An RAF Spitfire will be the star of the show tomorrow at the upcoming Lancashire and Ribble Valley Garden Festival at Hawkshaw Farm, off the A59.

The plane was built in 1944 and saw service with the Mediterranean Allied Air Force before being transferred to the new Italian Air Force after the war.

It will fly over the site around 6pm.

Organiser Kelvin Pye said: "The exciting display really complements our on the ground range of garden and county attractions."

The festival is open from 10am to 9pm tomorrow and from 10am to 5.30pm Wednesday.
