AN Accrington man caught speeding at 96mph on the A59 at Pacegate, Bolton Abbey, narrowly escaped losing his licence and possibly his job.
Paul Shead, 36, of Whalley Road, Accrington, pleaded guilty to breaking the 60mph limit.
Magistrates warned the defendant, who already had three points on his licence, that he was in danger of being banned.
Shead told them he was a national sales manager, travelling all over the country and covering up to 40,000 miles a year.
He had his licence endorsed with six penalty points and was fined £300.
