CHEFS from Darwen's award-winning Sukhi's Indian Cuisine will be competing with the some of the country's top food outlets next week.
Staff from the restaurant will travel to London for the cook-in at the House of Commons on Tuesday as part of the final of the Tiffin Cup 2006.
The Blackburn Road restaurant was nominated by the town's MP Janet Anderson as her favourite South Asian cuisine.
More than 40 MPs nominated their chosen restaurant and the entries were whittled down to a shortlist of 14.
The restaurant has been open for six years and in 2002 won an award for the Best Chicken Tikka Masala in the country.
Its own Sukhis Indian Lager has also received praise from the MP who managed to get it served in the Strangers Bar at the House of Commons.
The competition will be judged by a variety of celebrities including Lloyd Grossman, Ainsley Harriott and Nina Wadia from TV's Goodness Gracious Me'.
The competition is in aid of the Roko Cancer Appeal, which aims to create India's first mobile breast cancer unit and tuberculosis Alert.
