AN over-the-limit teenage driver who borrrowed his friend's car and crashed it had only passed his test two days before, a court heard.
Burnley magistrates were told apprentice bricklayer Peter Green, 19, who was not insured, hit a parked car and a gable end at an industrial unit in Barnoldswick. He was almost twice the legal limit for driving.
The defendant, who had no previous convictions, paid the price of his "stupidity", with a 16-month ban. Green of Ben Lane, Barnoldswick, was also fined £300 with £65 costs. He admitted driving with excess alcohol and no insurance.
Two two tests revealed 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 Nick Dearing, defending, said Green knew his actions had been stupid.
He stayed at the scene after the "slight accident", and when police arrived made admissions.
