A PEACOCK which surprised residents at a Blackburn care home when it became their new pet' is now entertaining children at a nursery around the corner.
Children at St Mary's College nursery, Shear Brow, have been going out in groups to see the peacock which has been in Blackburn since last week.
It was first seen at Heather House, home for Alzheimer's patients, Shear Bank Road, when it took up residence in the back garden for the weekend.
But the colourful creature has moved 400 metres away to entertain a new crowd, to the delight of the children and staff at the nursery.
Nursery manager Tracey Ellett said: "It has been here for three days now. We don't know what to do with it.
"It is quite a novelty for the children. They love it.
"But whoever owns it really needs to come and collect it."
Anyone with information is asked to call the nursery on 01254 586996.
