POLICE in Rossendale are appealing for witnesses after a 14-year-old girl was struck by a passing vehicle and suffered a leg injury.
Investigators are urging the motorist involved in the collision in Newchurch Road, Stacksteads to come forward and speak to officers.
The incident took place on Tuesday, March 28 at around 8.35am. The teenager was crossing the road when she was struck by what has been described as "a newish blue car".
The female driver stopped to ask the girl if she was alright before driving off again.
The victim was taken to Burnley General Hospital by her parents where she received treatment for damage to ligaments in her right leg.
PC Michael Woods from Rossendale Police said: "If anyone saw the collision and hasn't yet come forward, then we would very much like to hear from them. Obviously one of the main people we need to speak to is the driver."
Anyone with information should call on 01282 425001.
