YOUNG musicians wanting to make a name for themselves will be given the chance to perform live at this year's Darwen Live music festival.
For the first time in six years of the event, there will be an under 18 stage at Darwen Community Centre, Knott Street.
The young acts will join more than 60 live bands who are expected to entertain the crowds throughout the bank holiday weekend, on Sunday, May 28 and Monday, May 29. Venues will include Darwen bus station The Crown, Marigolds, The Tower Rooms, Darwen Library Theatre, Bar Java and The Millstone.
Performances will run from 1pm to 9.30pm and more than 20,000 visitors are expected to visit the town during the weekend.
Eighties band Spear of Destiny will be headlining the programme.
