A TEENAGER given an attendance centre order for damage refused to go and may have sent himself to jail instead.
Calvin Jameson, now 18, had not completed one hour of the 12 he was earlier given by the youth court and Burnley magistrates heard he would not go even if he was given another chance.
Jameson claimed he could not go to the centre in Bolton because he had no cash and didn't know how to get there.
Jameson, of Rook Street, Barnoldswick, admitted breaching an attendance centre order. Clerk of the court Paul Hayhurst asked his solicitor: "Is he aware the court goes up the scale not down the scale and he could be looking at custody?"
The justices revoked the order and the defendant was bailed until May 2 for a pre-sentence report.
The court was told organisers of the centre were prepared to give Jameson a further chance to attend.
Mark Irlam, for Jameson, said the defendant had been given a map showing how to get to Bolton but could not understand it.
