IT is always reassuring to visit one of your favourite takeaways and to find that it is still as good as you remembered.
The Akash has long been at the forefront of outstanding Indian takeaways and I spent many a happy Friday night in my youth walking home with a chicken tikka masala for tea.
So it was back to the old haunts this week and the same dish, just for nostalgia's sake.
The friendly welcome is still there and the magical smells from the open kitchen set the taste buds going.
With your chicken tikka masala you also get a free vegetable curry which is worth the money in its own right.
The chicken pieces were tender and the creamy, thick sauce was, as ever, delicious At £6.10 the chicken tikka masala may not appear the cheapest but for quality, it is still good value.
