A 66-YEAR-OLD Clitheroe man repeatedly called a police communications operator to complain about a faulty video tape he had bought on the market, a court was told.
Blackburn magistrates heard that John Robert Buller made at least seven calls to police on the same night.
And just 10 minutes after an officer had been to his home and warned him about wasting police time he made another call.
Buller, of Hayhurst Street, pleaded guilty to persistently using the telecommunications network to cause annoyance.
He was fined £100 with £60 costs and fined a further £50 for breaching a conditional discharge imposed in December for a similar offence.
Passing sentence the magistrates warned him he would go to prison if it happened again.
Roger Pickles, defending, said it was clear his client had medical difficulties of a depressive nature.
