A thief said to have targeted a vulnerable pensioner has been given a six month jail term.
Lee Morris, 23, of Belgrave Street, Nelson, then a £20 a day amphetamine addict, tricked his way into his victim's home by asking to use the toilet.
He then helped himself to a £10 watch from the bathroom, Burnley Crown Court heard.
Morris, who had been given a community order three weeks earlier, later admitted to police:"It's tight. It's mean. It's a bad habit."
The defendant, already serving 120 days behind bars, admitted theft.
Sentencing, Judge Beverley Lunt slammed his conduct as nasty and sneaky and said Morris had taken advantage of the victim who had allowed him into his home.
She added she hoped his first taste of custody had been salutory.
Francis McEntee, prosecuting, told the court the victim had learning difficulties.
The defendant turned up at his home last August asking to use the toilet.
He was allowed in and took the watch.
