AN East Lancashire school is seeking sponsorship to ensure a planned ski trip to the Alps remains on course.

Thirteen pupils from Tor View School, Haslingden, are off to Torgon, Switzerland, on March 18 for a six-day skiing adventure.

The school in Clod Lane is looking for sponsors to help fund the trip which will see six school staff and three instructors from the Uphill Ski Club based at Ski Rossendale accompany the pupils who have a range of learning and physical difficulties.

Headteacher Andy Squire said: "The costs for families are high because the pupils' special needs require a high staff ratio this makes the trip very expensive and we want to be able to subsidise the costs.

"We need to raise cash to help and add to the £500 that each pupil will have to pay.

"We also need clothing and equipment that can be used in years to come."
