VANDALISM cost £33million in Lancashire last year, it has been revealed.
The bill was the eighth highest of England's 39 police forces and the equivalent of costing every household in the county £24.74 annually.
The cost of vandalism is worked out by adding up the value of the damage, the bill for the police investigation and insurance administration, effect on the victim and cost of information leaflets.
According to the Home Office, this works out at an average of £866 for every incident.
