RAIL passengers are being urged to make better use of bus services stopping at stations in the Ribble Valley after a route was axed.
Lancashire County Council has pulled its funding for the 210 service from Clitheroe to Chatburn after deciding that not enough people were using it.
The service, which had run on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings, had left Clitheroe Interchange every hour once the train from Manchester had arrived.
But because it was costing £11.20 per passenger to subsidise, it's been axed.
Peter Moore, chairman of Ribble Valley Rail, said: "There are a number of bus services people can use which connect to train stations along the Ribble Valley line and I would urge people to use them."
