MOTORISTS and pedestrians are being warned that several of Ramsbottom's roads and pavements are due for an upgrade.
Bury Metro highway officials have identified a number of roads that could be included in the 2006/2007 highway refurbishment scheme for Ramsbottom.
Areas include Bury Old Road going towards Rochdale Road, Edenfield; Cross Bank Road towards Bye Road, Shuttleworth; Union Street; Dundee Lane; Railway Street, Summerseat; The Coppice and Fir Street.
The work includes a combination of carriageway and footpath work to improve the area for residents.
Highways officials are in consultation with Ramsbottom and Tottington Area Board councillors to identify areas of priority.
